Horticultural Training: training and employment programme
An accredited City and Guilds training centre, the farm has been successfully running NVQ training in horticulture aimed at unemployed Southwark residents for over 19 years. We aim to build students’ confidence, motivation and self esteem proving them with the necessary skills to re-enter the labour market.
NVQ's ceased to exist in August 2009 and has been replaced with the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework) training programme.
During their training course they work in various parks and gardens around Southwark including Dulwich Park, Chumleigh Gardens, Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park and St Georges Gardens.
Many students go on into full-time employment, some making a very successful career in horticulture and others going on to train at a higher level elsewhere.
NOTE: Good news, we have funding for running this again! Check our news for further details or call the Farm.
